Charleston engineering company raises $880 for Charleston Basket Brigade
Tuesday was a big day for the Charleston Basket Brigade! Momentum and Charleston Basket Brigade Founder Pam Hartley visited Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) in North Charleston, SC to talk about the Brigade’s efforts this year to feed 2,500 underprivileged families in the Charleston area, and she came away with an amazing story about a company that truly affected our work to achieve that fundraising goal. It was only last week that Alissa McLean, an SRC employee, reached out to the Basket Brigade to see how she and her company could help. Thanks to her efforts as well as those of her colleague Bernie Still, SRC was able to raise $880 for the charity!
Alissa and so many of the SRC employees are absolute angels, and we are touched by their efforts to help such an important local cause. The company provided a full lunch for its employees, and for only $5 employees could eat and give back to the Basket Brigade. They also held a bake sale that morning to add to the total donation. Pam said, “The number one thing this day taught me was that when an organization comes together, they really can accomplish amazing things for their community. SRC is truly a remarkable for making these strides as a company, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with them as we near the final fundraising effort for this year’s Basket Brigade goals.”
Want to learn more about how you too can participate? Tune in tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. on Lowcountry Live to watch Pam talk more about the Basket Brigade! The big event takes place next Tuesday, Nov. 22. Questions? Give us a call at 843-377-8450.
